Catoctin Mountain National Park
Located just West of Thurmont, Catoctin Mountain Park features miles of hiking trails, overviews, world class trout fishing, picnic and camping facilities, a charcoal making historic walk and a reconstruction of the Blue Blazes Still. The park is also home to Camp David, the Presidential retreat.

Cunningham Falls State Park
Also West of Thurmont you will find Cunningham Falls State Park. Named for the tallest cascading falls in the State the park also features Houck Lake with fishing, camping and picnic facilities, boating and swimming. Outdoorsmen will enjoy one of the finest trout streams on the East Coast as well as miles of well maintained hiking trails and overlooks.
