Thurmont Welcomes the World

May 18 & 19, 2012

Thurmont is a small community located at the foot of Catoctin Mountain in North Central Maryland. Over the past 70 years we have played host to thirteen Presidents, their families and guests as they visit the Presidential Retreat known as Camp David. As the closest community to Camp David we have shared in the many historic events that have taken place in our midsts and in the personal memories of the many world leaders we have welcomed to our community.

We invite you to take advantage of all the Thurmont area has to offer. Beautiful farmland, fine restaurants, spectacular mountain views, historic homes, world class recreational areas, three hundred years of history, quaint shops, rolling mountainside orchards, quiet residential streets and friendly, welcoming residents.

Explore what Thurmont has to offer on the following pages and see why Presidents have made this area their vacation retreat since 1942.
